Description:
Go into the Black Fins Village and look for Hidden Kaion. Go to the Glittering Earth Mound[pl:"Mounds"] and collect an Earth Sample[pl:"Samples"]. Then report back to Hidden Kaion. PlayerTalk to Hidden Kaion in the Black Fins Village. Look for the Wall Relief in the Black Fins Village and use the items to make a rubbing. Talk to Hidden Kaion in the Black Fins Village. Examine the Ancient Fossil[pl:"Fossils"]. Report to Kaion. Help Kaion and unlock the secrets of Signia.
Summary:
You gathered samples of Earth Mounds, the Wall Relief Rubbing, and samples of a fossil in the Black Fins Village for Kaion.

This substantiated Kaion's theory that Signia was once at the surface but then sank beneath the sea, and rose again on the day of the Major Offensive.

Full quest's text:
My name is Kaion.

I'm here to do research for a theory in this fledgling field.

I need assistance from a capable Daeva who can procure evidence. Would you help me?

Of course, I could do it myself, too, but the objectivity of the evidence would be doubtful.

Go into the Black Fins Village! Once you get there, I will explain what you have to do to prove my theory.

I'll see you in the Black Fins Village! Oh, by the way, I'll be concealed, so you'll have to look for me!
Welcome! Is this your first time in the Black Fins Village?

Did you see them? How would you describe them?
So that's how it is... very astute. Truly, there are many peculiar things here.

I can barely wait to uncover the mysteries of Signia.

First, I'll need a sample of the local earth. It should help me prove my theory.

Please go to the Glittering Earth Mound[pl:"Mounds"] on the Northern Coral Hills and bring me an Earth Sample[pl:"Samples"]. I'll get everything else ready that I'll need to prove my theory.
Well? Did you get the Earth Sample I asked for?
It feels strange.

It feels as though it was wet once but then dried. Dryish on the outside, but still wet inside... Or like something that was frozen, then thawed, and then hardened again.

The earth is unusual as well. As though something happened here long, long ago that we know naught of.

I almost think this substantiates my theory.

How interesting! I want to continue to unlock the secrets of this place.
The Sapiens here appear as though they are better equipped to live under water.

It's not surprising, considering this region was submerged until the day of the Major Offensive. But I do find it surprising that they can breathe out of the water.

I discovered something singularly peculiar in their village. I have no doubt it is critical for substantiating my theory.
To learn more about a place's history, you need to look at the local fauna and study their past. As far as I can tell from my research, two cultures exist here side by side.

Is it possible that the Black Fins once ruled Signia in some long distant past? I find it difficult to arrive at an answer to this question.

The time has come to obtain evidence for my theory! Here, take this. These tools will let you get rubbings of the Wall Reliefs.

You'll find a Wall Relief in the Black Fins Village. Please make me a Wall Relief Rubbing[pl:"Rubbings"] of it. Meanwhile, I'll look for more evidence.
Ah! There you are at last! I was tired of waiting and was just going to look for you.

Did you make the rubbing carefully? Show it to me.

A-ha! I knew it!

This is a rubbing I made elsewhere in the Black Fins Village. Could you compare it to the one you brought?
If you look closely, you can see that my Wall Relief Rubbing isn't that old. There is nothing special about this Wall Relief. It just shows pictures of everyday life in the Black Fins Village.

But Player, the rubbing you brought me depicts the sun, moon, clouds and four-legged flying creatures.

What would you say makes the two Wall Reliefs different from each other?
Correct! My theory was right. We are gradually beginning to solve this mystery.

Now the time has come to find the final piece of evidence.

I discovered an interesting fossil during my research. It is the final piece of evidence I need for my theory.

Please search for the Ancient Fossil[pl:"Fossils"] in the Black Fins Village and obtain a sample from it. Then return to the village. I'll go on ahead.
(You see the fossil of a creature that inhabited Signia a very long time ago.)

(It must be inconceivably ancient, as many parts of it have become featureless.)
(The fossil's structure implies that the creature lived on land rather than in the water.)

(It does not resemble any creature still found in Signia today.)

(It looks like the fossil of an ancient creature that became extinct long ago.)
I knew it! That means Signia was once on the surface, and sank beneath the sea for reasons unknown. It rose again after the day of the Major Offensive. This proves my theory.

I conclude from the fossil and the layers of sediment that the continent sank beneath the waves about one thousand years ago. There it remained, until it reemerged again on the day of the Major Offensive.

The soil that was subjected to so many sudden climatic changes, the wall reliefs, the fossils of ancient creatures long gone... They are all elements of my theory.

Thanks to you I was able to prove my theory. I will write my report now. That was truly magnificent work.
