Description:

Summary:
Sulinia explained a bit about Balaur spirituality and how priestly Drakan carry symbols of their Dragon Lord.

Sulinia thanked you for bringing her the engraved staffs from the Drakan of Hanarkand to study.

Full quest's text:
Observing living Drakan society in Hanarkand makes for greater understanding of our enemies and ourselves.

We see now that Drakan wear very different costumes based on their societal roles. In residential Hanarkand, there are two distinct groups: regular residents and priests.

Did you know that Drakan are very religious? That's how it looks, at least.

Though the Balaur Lords are worshiped like gods, we've found altars that pre-date their arrival. Clearly, the Balaur are a spiritual people.

Balaur worship differs significantly from ours, however. For instance, I belong to the Temple of Fear but can follow any Empyrean Lord I wish, even Lord Vaizel. But each Dragon Lord has its own territory where worshiping that lord, and only that lord, is mandatory.

Exactly, and the Balaur traditionally carry symbols of the lord they follow.

How much have these symbols changed over time? I'd like to discover the variation and evolution of their symbols by studying a current token of Tiamat and contrasting it against an older one.

Priestly Drakan in both the Aetheric Field and the Abyss carry engraved staffs, so it's likely that the Hanarkand Drakan Superior Medic[pl:"Medics"]s and Hanarkand Drakan Superior Curatus[pl:"Curati"]s have the Dragon Pattern Staff[pl:"Staffs"]s and Scale Pattern Staff[pl:"Staffs"]s.

The Drakan are complicated, but they move following a very simple principle. Their only excellent character trait is that they submit to a strong force.

The Dragon Lord must therefore constantly demonstrate his power to his subordinates.

As long as Tiamat is well, the Drakan in Hanarkand will worship Tiamat’s symbol. They will always carry it engraved in a staff.

So, are you going to show me a Dragon Pattern Staff[pl:"Staffs"] and a Scale Pattern Staff[pl:"Staffs"] now, Player? If you’ve brought them, show them to me.
I can see you haven't left for Hanarkand to get the Dragon Pattern Staff[pl:"Staffs"]s and Scale Pattern Staff[pl:"Staffs"]s yet.

No need to hurry. This is their home, and they have nowhere to go.

Priests' staffs are so excitingly different from staffs for combat. Look at this detailed engraving!

I have an ancient version to compare this against around here somewhere.
