It's important to remember that you need an Aetheric Field Fragment to use an Aetheric Field Corridor.

Oddly enough, even after we discovered the Aetheric Field Fragments, the Expedition didn't know they were keys to activate the Aetheric Field Stones until we found the disputed territories.

It was some time before we pieced it all together.

Even now there are aspects that are unclear. It's known that you're taken somewhere when you enter an Aetheric Field Corridor, but where you go isn't yet confirmed.
