I've been able to study Evergale Canyon a little more, and it's clear that the environment began to change when the core fragment fell here. I haven't figured out its power yet, but I can tell that the canyon's ecology is changing because of it.

The ancient and mutated creatures at the Ancient Altar and Jotun Garden are proof enough of this.
