I understand that at the end of the fortress battle, you obtained Krotan Spirit's Soulstone and Krotan Spirit Pendant. Player, I believe you have stumbled onto something important.

According to my research, those items are associated with a Guardian that protects Krotan Refuge.

Though they only existed in records of yore... I have no idea why they would suddenly appear in the present.

After we captured the fortress, we discovered Krotan's Crystal Sword embedded in the ground out front. It was engraved with a variety of strange patterns.

The patterns on the sword match those on your Krotan Spirit's Soulstone.

You are the only one who has both the Krotan Spirit's Soulstone and the Krotan Spirit Pendant.

Try taking over the Krotan Spirit's Soulstone and using it on the Krotan Crystal Sword to find out if it has anything to do with the Guardian.
