Footholds are a necessity. Whomever controls the Abyss will have the freedom to move entire armies from one side of Atreia to the other. I'm assuming you understand the importance of this enough to help.

When the battle starts at Siel's Western Fortress, take a force and kill Siel's Western Guardian. We'll move our forces in as soon as we're able.
