Not using bait's a total novice mistake. That's his problem.

Of course you've got to use the right bait, too. You can't just stick anything on your hook and expect to get a bite. Again, just like life.

Well, he's in the Gray Fog Marshes, and the fish there like Rynoce Meat. I can give him a recipe for some special bait that's sure to have the fish jumping at his hooks.

You'll need to mix it up with some Kukuru Powder. Luelas in Sanctum carries that.
