Meteria's Regret
icon Quest
Type: Quest
Category: Heiron
Lv.: 43
Elyos Only

Description:
Talk with Gorgos. Talk with Erato. Meteria's mother is dying, but she can't leave her alone long enough to retrieve the cure. She needs Seiren's fins to have the Daevas of Medicine make a cure--but the only Seirens are in Asmodae.
Summary:
Meteria needs help finding a cure for her dying mother. She needs the fins of Seirens to make a cure, but the only Seirens anyone knows of are in Asmodae.

You asked Admiral Gorgos about Seirens, and he pointed you to Alukina's Palace. The place is sealed against intruders, however, by means of some magical ward.

Gorgos sent you to Erato the Priest. She asked you to wait while she looked up the information.

Full quest's text:
I can't believe it...I've traveled to the Abyss, fought against the Asmodae, and returned whole to tell of my victories. But now...

Tell me, Player, do you have family still? Do you know where they are? It hasn't been that long since you ascended, has it?

I've soared on my own wings and felt the blood of my enemies flow down the steel I held. I've...heh. Never mind. It doesn't matter now. My mother is dying, you see. Next to that, it all amounts to nothing.

Player: "What's wrong with her?"

She's been ill for...well, a long time, apparently. She didn't want me to know, can you believe it? I've talked to the Daevas of Medicine, but they say there's nothing more to be done.

They tell me she's going to die. They say there's nothing I can do except to make her comfortable and care for her in her last days. I can't accept that.

Don't look at me like that, Daeva. If she were your mother, what would you do?

Player: "I don't...Anyway. What will you do?"

One of the Daevas of Medicine said there's a concoction from Seiren Wavedancers that's been known to cure this illness. The Seirens seem to have vanished from Elysea, though.

They do apparently still exist in Asmodae.

I'm my mother's only caretaker. I might be able to get someone to watch over her for a short while, but certainly not as long as it would take to get to Asmodae and back.

It galls me to ask for help, but I must. Could...will you help me save my mother? Will you get Seiren's Fins for me?

Player: Accept.

I wouldn't ask you to go to Asmodae if it weren't necessary, but time is of the essence.

I haven't been able to pinpoint the location of the Seirens in Asmodae. My next stop, though, was to ask Admiral Gorgos. No one in Elysea knows more about Asmodae than him. If you go see him, he can probably point you in the right direction.

Light be with you, Player. Don't fail me.

Player: "I'll be back in no time."

Player, well met. What brings you to these shores?

I saw you talking to Meteria. I know her mother's been ill. If she asked you to come see me, there's a good reason for it.

What is it that you need?

Player: "Where can I find Seirens in Asmodae?"

So that's what she's after, is it? That's quite a tall order. And you're going to help her? Well, at least you're not lacking for bravery.

There are Seirens in Beluslan, near a place called Alukina's Palace... beautiful place, or at least it was once upon a time, for all it's in shade-cursed Asmodae. I tried to get inside once, but the shadow-blasted thing is sealed.

Some kind of Aetheric Field holds it closed. It's a dim shame. Probably won't ever make it back there myself. You might want to ask Erato, actually. If there's a bit of shady magic that exists on Atreia, she probably knows something of it. Ask her your questions.

Player: "My thanks, Admiral."

Times may cause us to question Aion's blessing, Daeva, but those who soar the highest know his light, even in the dimmest lands. The will of the Seraphim Lords is greater than any building, and their knowledge beyond containment.

What is your need? Receive Aion's blessing and rest.

Player: "How can I enter Alukina's Palace?"

Alukina's Palace? Is that what you've come for? I'll be...well, I admit, that is not the request I expected you to make of me.

Alukina's Palace is in Asmodae, but I suspect you know at least that much already. I seem to recall...yes. Yes. There's some sort of magic laid upon it.... Pfah. It's been too long. I'll have to go look in my records.
