The Ice Claws are the strangest ones. They don't worship Balaur or ancestor-gods like normal Mau. They serve the Artifact Protector.

Go to the Desert Garrison and talk to Jorund. He'll have a better idea how to deal with the Mau.

Well, we need to deal with their leader, the Artifact Protector. But to get to him, you have to pass through an Aetheric Field.

To get through the Field, you have to perform a special rite.

You must slay the sacred White Brow Tayga.

Player: "Where can I find it?"

You'll have to lure it out.

First, go to the Salintus Rise and hunt the Stubborn Abex. Carve some meat from its flank.

Take the meat to the Altar of Trial and light the Dead Fire with this flint.

The smell of Abex meat roasting on the fire should lure out the White Brow Tayga. Once you've killed it, return to me.

Now you'll be able to enter the Aetheric Field and slay Protector Karhel.

The Aetheric Field is deep within the Mau village. The Statue of the Mau Protector there will pass you through if you bear the ceremonial title from defeating the Tayga. Then you can defeat Protector Karhel.

Take as much support as you can muster--there are far too many Mau in the village for one Daeva to fight alone.

When the Protector is dead, return to the fortress and report back to Centurion Nina. Blood for blood, Player.

Player: "Blood for blood."

Without their leader, the Mau shouldn't trouble us for a while.
