We have installed research devices to study the effects of the Ide in this region. It is truly unsettling. Things here in Balaurea are so different than in Asmodae.

It must be because of the Ide. The floating objects disturb me the most. I am glad that I am not a researcher, it makes me too uncomfortable. A soldier's life is war, weapons and duty.

I suppose my duty now is to aid in this research. So I must fix those broken devices.

Player: "Broken devices?"

The research progresses fine when the machines work, but they don't stay up for long.

What's more, we're in the middle of a battlefield. I cannot spare the men to fix the devices every time they go down and prosecute a war.

A tough [%userclass] with a bit of a death wish just might be able to do it alone. What do you think, Player?

Player: Accept.

I thought you would be up to the challenge.

There are three research devices in total, the Asmodian Ide Research Device No. 1, Asmodian Ide Research Device No. 2, and Asmodian Ide Research Device No. 3, set up close to those floating stones.

It is rather easy to fix them. Just be sure to keep out of sight and you should be fine.

Player: "The task is mine."

Are the devices back up and running again? And did you happen to notice any anomalies?

The researchers tell us to note anything unusual when the machines go down. They think it may have something to do with structural integrity of the Idium.

Unusual? There are blasted stones as large as this camp floating right before my eyes, by the Darkness! What a researcher considers an anomaly I would like to know.

Player: "I saw nothing stranger than you did."

Try doing it every couple days, maybe the Basin was quiet today, or the water spirit was subdued. Do as much as I have, and you'll recognize the danger.

There is something we're missing here though. Those machines should not be breaking like they are. I have half a mind to bring one back so the engineers can take a look.
