Summary:
Heintz asked you to gather Subella flowers for the grave of his old friend, Portaro.

You collected the flowers and brought them to Heintz, but after hearing so much about Portaro, you asked if you might go pay your own respects at his grave.

When you returned after visiting Portaro's grave, Heintz expressed his gratitude for your thoughtful action.

Full quest's text:
Sometimes people forget that the Humans of Brusthonin fought against the Balaur. In some ways they were braver than we Daevas--they didn't have the benefit of immortality.

I had only recently ascended, and I found Humans to be excellent fellow soldiers.

One man in particular became a close friend of mine. He survived the battle that killed almost everyone else.

Player: "What was his name?"

His name was Portaro.

After fighting the Balaur, he deserved a happy life. They all did--get married, have children, grow old. It's why we protect Humanity, isn't it?

But the contamination ruined everything people had rebuilt here after the Cataclysm. I suppose Portaro was fortunate to die from it.

Player: "Fortunate?"

Most who died from contamination became undead. There's no worse fate.

All I could do for Portaro was bury him--and thankfully he didn't rise again. I think it's important for Daevas to understand Human contributions to our war.

The flowers he liked best are blossoming again as Brusthonin recovers. Would you show your respect for Humanity by gathering some of them for me to lay on his grave?

Player: Accept.

Portaro really liked Subella flowers. They stopped growing in Brusthonin after the contamination started, but lately I've spotted some here and there. Seeing them reminds me of old times.

If only we'd paid more attention...I wish I had been with Portaro at the end.

If you see any Subella, please pick the flowers for me.

Player: "I will."

Have you met Ervin? She's really quite old, but I'll always think of her as a girl--I knew her when she was Human. I intended to send her to Temple in Pandaemonium when she ascended, but she wouldn't leave Baltasar.

She's one of the few people who remember Portaro.

Have you gathered the Subella I requested?

Player: "I have these..."

Oh...the scent! It brings back so many memories. I...hadn't expected it to affect me quite so much. They're absolutely beautiful Subella flowers.

I wasn't sure I'd ever see them again in this contaminated land. It gives me some hope for the future.

Ervin showed me how to make them into a bouquet to place on Portaro's grave.

Player: "Would you allow me?"

I...of course. I'm sure he'd be very pleased to meet a Daeva like you. It means a lot to me that you care enough about the accomplishments of a Human to honor him.

Take this bouquet to Portaro's Grave. It's been a while since anyone but me visited him.

Please pray for him to have the rest he deserves in the flow of Aether.

Player: "I will."

You haven't found Subella?

It's difficult to find, but I've seen it around. Subella has started to grow in Brusthonin again for sure.

Take your time. I've been waiting for a long time and a little more won't matter.

Player: "I'll double my efforts!"

(There is a tombstone in front of the grave.)

("Portaro, a Brave Man, a Good Friend. Rest in Peace.")

Player: "These are for you, Portaro."

(You placed the flowers at the foot of the tombstone.)

Player: "Shadows carry you to peace."

We Daevas must watch so many Humans pass before us and die.

I don't know why this one man's death affected me so much. Perhaps because I never got the chance to say goodbye.

Did you pay your respects at Portaro's grave?

Player: "I did."

Thank you. I'm sure he would appreciate it.

Portaro always had hope for the future, even when the Balaur seemed invincible. Perhaps that's what these returning flowers offer us. Hope.

Although Portaro is dead, we can save this place so his descendants can live here once more.
