Summary:
You found Torio, one of Kahrun's bodyguards, near-dead of dehydration. You brought him water, and he told you about an explosion he barely survived.

He asked after his fellow guards, and you delivered the sad news: they'd turned into undead warriors. Whom you killed. Thankfully, Kahrun wasn't among them.

Torio grieved for his brothers in arms, and begged you to find his best friend, Jamin. You did find Jamin, but he was already dead. He clutched a letter.

The letter was from Kahrun. It said he planned to head south to evade Beritra's pursuit. You followed Kahrun's trail to an Elyos base. There, you asked Gramme if he'd seen anything suspicious.

Gramme was quick to tell you that this base was totally secure and full of Shugos, but that he'd seen this icky Balaur corpse the other day and that Trasir knew more about local history than he did.

You found the Balaur corpse holding grimly to a Reian accessory. Hoping Kahrun might be that accessory's owner--and nearby--you hunted for him, but had to give up. Disheartened, you went to Trasir.

Trasir mentioned a broken sword in the area, which turned out to be sharding HUGE.

Bewildered, you brought the sword back to Thresu. He's your partner in this, after all. Thresu seemed sure the sword belonged to Kahrun. So that's something.

Water... please....

So close to... Delicate Moonflower... safe....

Water...?

Player: "I've got you."

Water... please....

Player: "Shhh. Here you go."

Thank you....

I came here with Kahrun when... there was an explosion.

Do you know what happened to the others? Please... find my Brothers in Arms.

Player: "I'll do whatever I can."

The Ide explosion turned them into... undead monsters?

What of Kahrun? Did you see him? Has he turned?

Player: "Didn't see him."

Beritra's forces pursued us....

We stumbled across an Idgel cube, and Kahrun tried to use it. It was too unstable. It exploded, and my brothers...

Jamin! My closest friend. I need to know if he's all right.

Player: "Rest. I'll find him."

(The Reian must have been killed by Beritra's forces.)

(You stoop to close his eyes and see he's carrying a folded piece of paper.)

Player: "So Kahrun went north?"

What brings you here? An inspection?

Well, don't you worry. Haha. Everything's going smoothly. Haha--erk.

Player: "Have you seen a Reian or a Dragon Lord?"

Reians and Dragon Lords? We get a lot of Reians passing through, but the locals are all Shugos and their sapien workers.

But if you're into Balaur, there's a Beritra Soldier's Corpse. I saw it with my own eyes.

Of course I didn't move it! I just came back and reported it.

Player: "Dead Balaur?"

You probably see them all the time, but it seemed strange to me.

I'm new here, but Trasir said something about a battle three months ago.

Player: "Balaur corpses and Trasir. Got it."

(The corpse bears Beritra's emblem.)

(Its stiffened claws clutch something Reian-looking.)

Player: "Kahrun must be nearby!"

Can I help you?

Player: "I was in this coma..."

Oh, the three month [%userclass]. Seeking closure, I understand. Go ahead and take a look around.

At the same time you fell, something happened here. Unfortunately, we didn't have scouts in the area yet, so I can't tell you exactly what.

But it must have been incredible. I mean, there's this giant Broken Sword just standing out there. No matter how many of Beritra's soldiers come around to poke at it.

Player: "How big is 'giant'?"

(You would never have referred to this as a "Broken Sword.")

(It's huge. Like a statue made by Aion himself. If anyone used it in battle, they had to be a giant... or an Empyrean Lord... or maybe Kahrun.)

Player: "Hope it fits in my cube!"

You bring Kahrun's sword.

Who could have broken it?

Oh, that poor child....
