Kahrun's Intrigue
icon Quest
Type: Campaign
Category: Omen of Chaos
Level: 65
Elyos Only

Description:
Talk with Atmis at Aequis Headquarters in Cygnea. See Teleporter Vernea at Aequis Headquarters in Cygnea to go to Levinshor. Talk with Tarena at Lumewillow Glade in Levinshor. Talk with Kahrun at Aetherbrak in Levinshor. Right-click on Kahrun's Drawing to examine it. Talk with Kahrun again. Order: Expedition Commander-in-chief Atmis is looking for you.
Summary:
When you met with Expedition Commander-in-chief Atmis, praised you in your defeat of the Hyperion. Afterwards, he instructed you to see Kahrun, who has quietly reappeared in Levinshor with vital information concerning Beritra's forces.

You met Tarena in Levinshor and she directed you to Kahrun, who is still recovering.

You found Recovering Kahrun, and while talking with him, you both lost consciousness and experienced strange visions.

When you came to, Kahrun showed you that his drawing of the device in the dream and the one next to him were one in the same--Beritra's new Invasion Power Generator.

Kahrun added that the vision wasn't a dream at all but the actual memories of several people.

Full quest's text:
Ah, you're here--the one who defeated Hyperion. The gossip channels are abuzz with stories of your heroics.

Even if some versions are exaggerated for effect--as, let's face it, stories like that have a tendency to be--it was an impressive feat. That was one beast of a mission.

You are quite an inspiration, I must admit!

Player: "I only did what I had to do."

Hmm, modest. OK, we can move on. There is a vast amount of land left to conquer, and the progress continues as we speak.

Beritra's forces are intensifying their offensive, and the Asmodians still seem to think they have a chance at winning this war. Filthy, derelict brutes!

But we're more concerned about the Beritra Legion at the moment--blasted Ide weapons. They think they'll work?!

Player: "What are you talking about?"

Right--getting ahead of myself. They've developed some new Ide weapons that they plan to use to invade Atreia. At least, that's what we suspect.

We actually don't know many details yet, but that's why I needed to speak with you. Kahrun the Reian has reached out to our forces in Levinshor, and I suspect he knows something we don't.

He says he has crucial information about Beritra's forces, but he'll only share it with you--privately.

Player: "Why only me?"

Who knows, really? He's been impressed with you for some time. No point in questioning it.

We don't know quite what's happened to Kahrun since he disappeared in his wounded state, but he's now chosen to seek you out before rejoining his tribe--so it must be an important matter.

And since it involves Beritra--we need you to go immediately. Find Tarena, a Reian in Levinshor. She will tell you of Kahrun's whereabouts. See the Teleporter Kelopas and make haste.

Player: "On my way."

Are you Player?

My name is Tarena. I serve Lord Kahrun--I've been waiting for you.

He must see you immediately. I will tell you where to find him, but remember--this information is strictly confidential.

Player: "Of course."

His greatness hasn't fully recovered from his injuries, yet those who would threaten him have only been nursing their venom. He's waiting until his strength is full before revealing himself.

Now I don't know you, but I trust Lord Kahrun--so I guess I'll have to trust you as well.

(Barely a whisper) Lord Kahrun is nearby in Aetherbrak. Go there now--you'll find him waiting for you. And for Aion's sake, make sure you're not followed, OK, Player?

Player: "I understand. Thank you."

Ahhh, Player, you've come! It's been a while...I know.

I'm sure you have many questions for me, but I need you to be patient. I'm still very weak, as you can see, and I must get to the point.

I've been plagued by a very mysterious...affliction, you could say. You're the only one I trust to discuss it with, and indeed--I believe you may already be involved without knowing it.

Player: "Hmm...intrigue."

Yes, quite. I think it started when I was captured by Beritra. I'm not... I'm not entirely sure.

Ugh...you'll have to forgive me if I have trouble articulating this. You see, it's more something I--ouch!--it starts with a splitting headache...then I seem to pass out, and I get these intense, unsettling visions.

I've seen Beritra and the Device and... aaagh! (Grimacing) Why now, of all times...!

Player: "Kahrun? Are you OK?"

Player? Player?

So it haunts you too! It's just as I thought.

We're both experiencing the memory of Beritra's new machine.

Player: "Memory? Machine?"

I know, it doesn't fully make sense yet. I've been investigating it for some time.

Maybe if I show you, we can confirm we're on the same page.

(Takes out a piece of paper and scribbles for a minute.) Here, look at this drawing.

Player: "OK, let me see."

I had thought the vision haunting me was a mere illusion--but now I understand that it's an actual memory.

I don't know why yet, but you and I somehow have access to someone else's memories--someone within Beritra's inner circle. Likely more than one person's, it seems.

Intrigue indeed, Player. Intrigue indeed.
