The Hymn of Aion scouts have uncovered a mass grave filled with the bodies of many ancient Atreians while mapping the Black Gale Pass.

The most curious thing about the bodies is that they are all missing their thigh bones. I use the word "interesting" colloquially, as I find nothing about a pile of mutilated bodies interesting.

What I find interesting is that these poor souls are not at rest....

In life, the pirate ghosts of the Nephalim Graveyard once made flagposts out of their enemies' bones to mark their territory. I wonder if they are also responsible for these missing bones?

So, you go fetch me the bones missing from these desecrated remains, and I will begin the arrangements for the funeral honoring them.

Believe me, you have the easier job. Just go to the Nephalim Graveyard and find some Thigh Bones. Now, who to invite for the ceremony?...

Even before they became shipwrecked wraiths, the pirates of the Nephalim Graveyard were a ferocious bunch of thieves and murderers.

They would mark their territories with flagposts made of the bones of their enemies.

Thank you for completing such a menial task. These certainly look like they match the bodies we found. Or so one of my subordinates tells me.

We still don't know what purpose the bones served. Yes, they were to intimidate their enemies, but I sense some darker magic here, something powered by... sacrifice.
