Well, I suppose we should get started, then--since you'll need to be familiar with the surrounding area, I recommend you speak with Nixie. She's one of our resident scholars, highly enthusiastic and very determined to learn all she can about this new world. I think you--and all of us, really--could stand to learn a lot from her.

She's already ventured out on her own to explore the ruins around Enshar, so I'm sure she has a lot to talk about.

Player: "I'll go see her."

There are always so many mysteries to unravel when you're somewhere new... everything has a story, even the rocks and trees. Especially here, where the land has been underwater for so long.

There's so much history. Even back home, I'm sure there are so many things we must have forgotten or misremembered.... Don't you think it's fascinating?

....Oh! I'm sorry, we haven't met. I thought you were someone else, and I just started talking.... I'm Nixie, it's nice to meet you.

Player: "[%username]. Bonat said I should talk to you."

Player?! Oh... Bonat said you should come talk to me, out of all the other scholars and researchers here?

Wow. I didn't think he thought very much of me, but that might just be the way he talks. He's very formal, don't you think?

Oh, I'm babbling again. Sorry! He must have sent you to me because I've been researching things outside the base, right? That makes sense. Here, let me show you something.

Player: "What's this?"

I found it among the ruins. Look at the patterns on it--they look like writing, don't they?

I think it's from an ancient civilization that must have lived here, one we probably have never even heard of! Isn't that exciting?

Here, I want to know more about this relic, and you need to learn about the area. Why don't you take it and go search around the ruins, try to find things with similar patterns?

Player: "Sure, I suppose."

(An ancient tablet. The lines and carvings are just barely visible on the crumbling stone.)

Player: "Does this match the one Nixie gave me?"

(After studying them, they do not look similar.)

Player: "Maybe there are other ruins nearby."

(These are ancient ruins. The lines and carvings are just barely visible on the crumbling stone.)

Player: "Hmm... these might be the same..."

(Some of the lines look similar, but the marks are too eroded to be sure.)

Player: "I think I'm getting closer."

(The stone here is well-preserved, the carvings similar to the ones on Nixie's relic.)

Player: Look up

(The upper part of the tablet seems intact. The carvings are similar, but not identical.)

Player: "I wonder what's underneath..."

(A piece is missing near the base. Nixie's relic fits perfectly into the stone, and the lines form into an unmistakable symbol of Dragon Lord Tiamat.)

Player: "I've got a bad feeling about this."

(A foul-smelling Drakan corpse, still dressed in the armor of Dragon Lord Tiamat.)

Player: "Something is not right, here..."

(The corpse is badly decayed, indicating it's been here for a long time, but there are fresh cuts and marks marring the skin.)

Player: "Wonder what that's about.... I should tell Nixie."

The Dragon Lord's soldiers...! I knew I was right to worry--you're not hurt, are you?

And the tablets did have something to do with Tiamat... Hmm. I think this land has a longer, more sordid history than we realized. I should tell... No, I'll talk to Bonat about this.
