Order: Go to Protector Oriata in Rancora Fortress and face the truth.
Summary:
In Tiamaranta, Protector Oriata of the present said she will send you to the past to help you understand that Ide is a power that existed since the beginning of time

By activating the Riftsands that Protector Oriata gave you, you travelled to the past where you witnessed the end of Tiamat and obtained the Extracted Ide Fragment from Tiamat's corpse.

Oriata of the past said it is a trace of Ide that can be found after Siel's Relics had been activated. Then, she sent you to another point of time in the past.

In another pivotal moment in the past, you witnessed the destruction of Siel's Relics and Israphel, and saw the Concentrated Ide Crystal left behind on the spot where the relics and the Empyrean Lord had disappeared.

When you returned to Oriata of the past, she impressed upon you once again that Ide is a power that is connected to every power there is, existing in everything and exerting its influence since time immemorial.

Full quest's text:
I see so many use the power of Ide without fully understanding it. Yes, Player, you would be included in that category.

It maybe wouldn't matter so much if it wasn't such a hot commodity, but it is. It is desired by many, respected by few.

And many who desire it have evil intentions. This is nothing new.

Player: "It's not new?

No! It's not new. It has been around for ages, the memories of its origins lost in time for most.

But I need you to understand it, Player. I need you to see with your own eyes a crucial part of our history and how the power of Ide affected our society back then.

Use this Riftsands. It will take you where you need to be.

Player: "Where do I need to be? Or - when?"

I'm sending you to the moment just before Dragon Lord Tiamat falls. You'll immediately have to stop Tiamat from using Siel's Relics.

You'll see Empyrean Lord Israphel run off with them, and you'll witness the end of Tiamat at the hands of Empyrean Lord Marchutan.

After Israphel disappears, examine Tiamat's Body and see what traces were left on Tiamat after using Siel's Relics.

Player: "I'm ready."

(It's the body of Dragon Lord Tiamat, the energy around it emanating a powerful concentration of Ide.)

Player: "What else is there?"

That familiar energy of Ide was pretty powerful, wasn't it? And yes, the Extracted Ide Fragment.

This is a trace of Ide left behind from the Siel's Relics. Their power is so great that it remains today, even though they originated in an age before the Cataclysm.

Elyos and Asmodians alike have dismissed this crystal, not knowing its power.

Player: "It's new to me."

I know - this is a lot to take in. I think there is another moment in history that will make it all clearer for you.

The moment Empyrean Lord Israphel is about to use Siel's Relics - and the end of Israphel. They are more or less one and the same. There you will find Concentrated Ide Crystal.

Prepare yourself. It will be unsettling.

Player: "I'm prepared."

Woah, a Daeva! I didn't think anyone could come in here...

I assume you've come to find Siel's Relics. Well, it begins with an interesting tale...

Player: "Pray tell."

Long ago, when the Tower of Eternity was still intact, the Balaur rebelled against Aion to become gods themselves.

To stop them, Aion sent down twelve Empyrean Lords. But they were feisty, and determined. An Aetheric Field surrounding us was the only way to keep them off, and barely at that.

As you can imagine, Daevas and humans alike began to lose faith in Empyrean Lords - even Aion. It was humiliating. I decided to destroy the Dragon Lords in one fell swoop. I knew it could be done, by absorbing the power from the Tower of Eternity.

Player: "Did it work?"

Well, I was sure that it would work. There was no way it wouldn't. I only needed a reason to draw the Dragon Lords closer to the tower.

So I suggested a peace treaty, removed the Aetheric Field, and lured Beritra into bringing all the Dragon Lords to this peace conference chamber. Of course their plan would be to destroy all of us in one place. Little did they know that I already planned to vanquish them.

It was a great plan. And it would have worked, you know, if Fregion hadn't destroyed the Tower of Eternity. And then we were struck by the Cataclysm.

When Siel sacrificed herself out of desperation to create the Aetheric Field, I hid while pretending to aid her. Yes, I see your disgust, your mockery. I was arrogant, cowardly, irresponsible. But my plan to end the tragedy I have caused is now complete!

Player: "What's your plan?"

I intend to combine my power over space and the power of the Relics to revert Atreia to the perfect beginning of time. When the Tower of Eternity, Aion, was alive and well, beaming and beautiful.

I'll finally be the only Empyrean Lord - of the new Atreia - leader of the world!

My past mistakes have brought division, destruction, blood, sacrifice...and though my plan will inevitably cause more pain and suffering - in the end, it's the only way I can rectify my great error.

Player: "More pain and suffering...?"

(Israphel and the Relics have vanished, but the power of Ide remains tangible in a crystal of condensed Ide, formed after Siel's Relics have been activated.)

Player: "Hmm..what is this crystal?

Exactly. Ide is a component of every power in your world, but somehow that truth has been forgotten all the time. Nevertheless, its influence remains.

Aether has long been believed to be the sole source of power, but indeed, Ide has always existed deeper within that power.
