Skuldun, an Agent of Marchutan, said you needed a bonded weapon in order to become a Protector, and instructed you to obtain Fachmann's help. When you spoke to Fachmann, he said you need a Pattern of Unity and set you on a task to gather the required materials.

When you brought the materials to Fachmann, he said there was more yet to do. He told you to prove your ability to bond with the weapon and asked you to defend Balaurea while he crafted the pattern.

After defending Balaurea and accumulating the essence of Balaurea, you went back to Fachmann. He crafted a Daevanion weapon for you and sent you to Skuldun for the ritual.

Full quest's text:
Devoting yourself to the Asmodians and the Empyrean Lord Marchutan can make for a very... lonely life. Friends or lovers... you might have relationships along the way, Player, but there is only one thing you can count on to always be by your side.

That is why all of Marchutan's Iron Mace have a Daevanion weapon.

When you are ready to accept your destiny, go see Fachmann. He will assist you, Player.

Player: Accept

Any skilled smith can forge a powerful weapon from decent materials. But a weapon that bonds with its master is not so easily made.

The Marchutan's Iron Mace are offering our assistance in crafting a Daevanion weapon, etched with a Pattern of Unity. But this weapon is not something just anyone can wield. It requires unity of spirit, strength of character, and determination. It requires the lessons you have learned as a Daeva to always be remembered.

And more than that, you must keep in mind that these things are not achieved and thrown away. Resolution and honor are a constant struggle, something you must always remind yourself to strive for. If you understand this, we can begin.

Player: "I understand."

Let's get started.

A Pattern of Unity requires four different types of materials--Divine Aether, Sealed Book, Cursed Book, and Honorable Daeva Decoration.

When you bring me those four things, I'll make a Pattern of Unity to engrave into your Daevanion weapon.

If you need more instruction on where to find those materials, just ask.

Player: "Got it."

For the Daevanion weapon, you'll need a Pattern of Unity.

To make the pattern, you need four components.

Do you have Divine Aether, Sealed Book, Cursed Book, and Honorable Daeva Decoration?

Player: "Here they are."

You have to convert the Divine Aether through from Distorted Aether.

You can get Distorted Aether from the skies of Reshanta. You will need an Aether Extractor.

Player: "Got it."

You can get Sealed Books from the Sealed Danuar Mysticarium. You get there through an Aetheric Field Corridor.

Don't forget you need an Aetheric Field Fragment to use the Aetheric Field Corridor.

Player: "Right."

Cursed Books can be found in the Sealed Dorgel Manor. Get there through an Aetheric Field Corridor.

Don't forget you need an Aetheric Field Fragment to use the Aetheric Field Corridor.

Player: "Right."

Honor Medals come from Honorable Conqueror's Mark Bundles.

Honorable Conqueror's Mark Bundles can be purchased with 20 Honorable Daeva Decorations in Inggison or Gelkmaros.

You get those by infiltrating enemy territory and eliminating Conquest Offerings. Should be easy, right?

Player: "Right, of course..."

You got all of the materials we need for the Pattern of Unity!

Aether filled with divine power, books that contain knowledge beyond this world, and tokens proving your valor... Yes, I can make a Pattern of Unity with these.

But unlike the equipment we have made so far, engraving a pattern isn't enough to craft the Daevanion weapon. To really bond with a weapon, you have to go through a few more steps.

Player: "Of course I do."

You can't force this kind of connection--you must be one with your intent. We are creating a weapon with its own sense of being, and it will fight you at first. If you win, you will have a weapon that moves and acts like an extension of yourself. If you lose... well.

This is a very long and lonely process. You will want to quit, and you will question yourself. You must remain strong. As I said, we are creating a weapon with its own sense of purpose--and a weapon has only one purpose, to kill. It requires a steady hand to guide it.

First, defend Levinshor and Kaldor to remind yourself of your purpose. Meanwhile, I'll prepare the Daevanion weapon for your return.

Player: "The task is mine."

Ah, you are back, Daeva! There is an air of authority about you that I haven't seen before. I take it you found what you were looking for?

>I finished the Pattern of Unity while you were gone. This pattern will bind you with your weapon, Player.

Now then, let's get started. Just give me a few moments, here....

Player: "Thank you."

(Fachmann deftly begins to etch the Pattern of Unity onto the Daevanion weapon.)

(A rainbow of light glows softly along the pattern on the weapon before fading away, as if it is being absorbed by the weapon itself.)

Player: "Stunning..."

...It's done.

Take this to Agent Skuldun for the Daevanion ritual, Player.

I am... proud of you, Daeva. You've done very well.

Player: "Thank you, Fachmann."

You have a nice Daevanion weapon there, Player.

I take it you're ready?

Once I do this, it cannot be undone. Are you certain you wish to continue?

Player: "After all that work?"

That's the spirit.

Once I complete this ritual, you will be reborn as a true Protector.

Do you swear that you will carry out your duties faithfully as a member of Empyrean Lord Marchutan's Iron Mace and a Protector of the Asmodians?

Player: "I swear."

Here, take it. This Daevanion weapon will guide you in becoming a true protector.

May you be blessed with the courage to help you cut through the darkness in your path and step forward into the light!
