It's curious that such a spirit hadn't appeared until now... Perhaps someone summoned it? That may be the reason that the necklace and pendant were found.

It would have to be someone of truly formidable power to manipulate such a creature...

Well, I think this calls for more research on wherever that Crystal Sword came from.
