After the Cataclysm the Reian Tribe ended up settling down in Balaurea. They adapted to the barren environment and stood their ground against the Balaur to preserve their livelihood.

A small group of a couple dozen found themselves in a place called Esoterrace. They also fought against the Balaur, but they were too few to achieve much. Their leader was taken, and they found themselves in a losing battle for their lives.

We have little to no information on them, or if they're friendly, but we've received a request for assistance. If you have time, go to Esoterrace and hear what the Reian Nepion has to say. Maybe we help them, maybe we don't. We'll see.

Were you sent by the Pandaemonium Expeditionary Force? You don't look familiar... but, if you’re here to help, let me explain the situation to you.

This place is called Esoterrace. For us it’s our home, but the Balaur have taken over and turned it into a Drana production facility.

We tried to take it back, but we simply don't have the numbers. Any loss would be devastating. This Marble holds information... it will show you everything there is to know.

Follow the path up, and you'll come to the Drana Farm. It is the biggest Drana farm in all of Tiamat's old domain.

There lies our Holy Tree. Sadly, it is now just a tool to produce Drana for the Balaur. The Drana they produce is taken to a refinery in the area.

Regrettably, this is all we were able to find out. From there on out, the guards are too vigilant for us to even get in.

Player: "I understand."

My guess is that the Balaur might be researching Drana not just at the production facility, but also in a secret laboratory. No matter what they're doing there, it won’t be good for us.

Put a stop to the research, slay the Balaur, and free our home. You'll need to free the holy tree first if you're to stop production. From there, go to the laboratory and clear out any scaled filth you find there.

You'll find a cliff a bit further ahead. My colleagues will be waiting for you there. They'll open the slipstream to take you back to the canyon.

There are rumors that the Balaur that occupied Esoterrace are researching something in secret under the order of Warden Surama.

Whatever it is, it can’t be good for us.

Could you go in and retrieve information about what kind of research Surama is doing? And while you’re there, please help the Reians in Esoterrace by clearing out the Balaur.

I'm sure you can see the tissue was transformed artificially... that’s why it shows signs of sudden growth.

Somehow it looks as if it had been experimented upon?

I see... So the Balaur didn’t just take Esoterrace from the Reians to produce Drana, they are also secretly conducting experiments on other Balaur?

If that is true, then we cannot let the Balaur proceed. We need to quickly come up with a plan and take Esoterrace back.
