- Ereshkigal, the 3rd Dragon Lord -

Ereshkigal was the third to awaken as Dragon Lord and became known as a merciless torturer and the finest tactician among the Balaur.

She possessed a magical talent comparable to that of Fregion, the first Dragon Lord, who had laid down the law and policy of the Balaur.

While Ereshkigal devoted herself to researching the source of her power, the other Balaur fought. Her rational nature always yearned for harmony.

She wasn't possessed by the typical Balaur instincts, which were driven by a thirst for blood, rage and power.

But she did share their propensity of grimly defending her honour and pride, which she did with cruelty and vengeance.

- Ereshkigal and the Peace Negotiations -

Ereshkigal, who understood more of ancient magic and sorcery than any creature in Atreia and Balaurea, was the most fearsome opponent in the Millennium War which raged between humans and the Balaur.

Yet after the long war ended, unexpectedly it was Ereshkigal who initiated negotiations for the well-being of Aion and all creatures.

During the peace negotiations with Aion and the Lords, Ereshkigal categorically rejected the proposal by Meslamtaeda and Tiamat to eradicate the humans.

As is generally known, the peace negotiations resulted in the Cataclysm, which drove a rift between Ereshkigal and the other Dragon Lords.

Ereshkigal vanished without a trace shortly afterwards.

- Ereshkigal and Makarna -

Much time passed before Ereshkigal resurfaced.

The world divided into Elysea and Asmodae, the Abyss came into being, the Daevas assaulted Balaurea, and Tiamat, fifth Dragon Lord, died at the hand of Daevas and the other Dragon Lords.

After the Cataclysm, Ereshkigal, who despised the Dragon Lords, was sealed away in Makarna by Fregion and Tiamat. Tiamat's death weakened the seal and Ereshkigal used the opportunity to return to the world.

After the machine army of 4th Dragon Lord Beritra had invaded Balaurea and Atreia, Tiamat's land sank beneath the waves and the earth groaned and shook.

Ereshkigal, who had allied with Beritra to escape the seal, found herself betrayed by him again, and in her rage she risked her own life to break the seal.

When Ereshkigal returned, icy winds tore the morning sky and a snowstorm fell upon Makarna.

- Ereshkigal's Return -

Weakened from her long imprisonment and her struggle to break the seal, Ereshkigal withdrew to the part of Reshanta we know as the unmoving Abyss.

Ereshkigal burned with the desire to fight and swore her revenge on the Dragon Lords and the Daevas. To regenerate, she had herself encased in ice.

Ereshkigal also attempted to make the miraculous Sakrapes blossom to speed her recovery. A thousand lives must be sacrificed to Sakrapes over a thousand years in order for them to flower.

Ereshkigal was very different from the other Balaur - she was studied and strove for harmony always. But her rage and thirst for vengeance caused her to lose control.

Ereshkigal had returned.

- Assault on the Core -

Countless Daevas were sacrificed to Sakrapes. And so the Daevas dispatched countless ships and troops to bring Ereshkigal to justice.

Ereshkigal, who had regained her power, however, defeated the advance with such ease that the Daevas dared not attack the Dragon Lord again.

The following urgent orders were issued after the failed Core Assault and demanded the Daevas launch a new attack.

- Urgent Orders from the Abyss Brigade General -

Daeva, despite our many sacrifices, Sakrapes blossomed and Ereshkigal was reawakened.

The might of the Dragon Lord took hold of the entire Divine Fortress and Reshanta froze and became ice.

The Daevas set forth to the Divine Fortress in their battle fleet to fight the reawakened Dragon Lord.

When Ereshkigal faced them, the Daevas attacked her with all their power.

The force of the explosions rocked heaven and earth. The core was smothered in smoke. Believing they had triumphed, the Daevas cheered.

But... when the smoke cleared and the Dragon Lord stepped forward unscathed, the Daevas' cheers fell silent.

With a terrifying roar, she began to rain down ultimate destruction. Nobody could oppose Ereshkigal any longer.

Dark times began. But let us not be brought down by despair.

Daeva, we wait for you to lead the battle to end all battles.

Ultimately, the battle claimed countless lives. Many ships were destroyed, but on their third attempt the Daevas finally advanced to Reshanta.

But by then, Ereshkigal had vanished without a trace after laying waste to her own Reshanta on the Day of the Storm.

Ereshkigal had left for Lakrum to find Aion's Relic and acquire more power for her vendetta.

She desired unlimited power. And that was the last time anybody saw Ereshkigal. She had always been different to the other Balaur.
