He's a walking General Goods merchant. The dot on the left side is where he stops and turns around to walk the same road he's on, but the other way. I turned away (to kill two mobs) from the road where the road on the right tries to connect (but fades out, as seen on the map above), and he had disappeared. Not sure if he dispawned or went towards the road on the right...

I was on regular server, so I can't say he also appears on FTS.
