Of course I've heard of you! You ascended from a mercenary--that's unusual enough--but your exploits are known far and wide as well.

We could use your help, if you have time.

Player: "What's going on?"

Have you heard of The Scorchlands?

They were lush forests, once, filled with Elim. But the Dragon Lord Fregion cursed this land--to this day, it's surrounded by flames. It's a wasteland.

And the Elim were transformed. Now they roam the region as Rotrons and Agrints--monsters.

Player: "There's no way to lift the curse?"

Sanctum's tried everything, but nothing's worked so far.

I had to abandon a research camp there. The heat's unbearable, and the Agrints and Rotrons made it impossible to stay. They shake their burning branches and attack anything that moves. And it's getting worse.

If I'm to continue my work, I need to monitor the situation there. Can you help me?

Player: Accept.

In The Scorchlands, you'll find an Agrint named Tartagan. He's one of the few who survived transformation without losing his mind. See what you can learn from him.

Take a Stone of Purification just in case. I haven't seen him since I left, and I don't know how he's fared since then.

If you're unsure about his state of mind, give it to him, and get any information you can.

Flame Crystals contain the concentrated energy of a Dragon Lord. They're like seeds of evil.
