There's something strange about this jungle, and it's critical that we figure out what's happening. The animals are growing larger and more aggressive all the time.

Take the Earth Spirits for example. I study them, you know. They've never been friendly, but if you left them alone they'd leave you alone.

Now they attack anyone who comes near them. Senea asked me to investigate.

Player: "What will you do?"

I'm not quite sure. Like I said, I used to be able to go out and observe them. The Earth Spirits would go about their business and ignore me.

But these Ruined Earth Spirits are a different matter. Ideally what I'd do is try to take a few of them down and gather some Spirit Soil from each one.

I just have to figure out how to do that.

That's very gracious of you, Player. I suppose it makes perfect sense to let a battle-tested [%userclass] take care of this kind of work, rather than a scientist.

Usually we don't have a handy [%userclass] volunteering to help, though!

Oh hello, Player! I was just reading a book about Spirits while waiting for you.

This is such a difficult problem, I want to gather as much information as possible. If there's anything in the literature that can help, I'm going to find it.

Did you find enough Spirit Soil?

Player: "Is this enough?"

I hate to disappoint you when you're doing me a favor, but no.

I know it can be tricky. I mean to most people it just looks like dirt!

I need at least three bags to do my research, though.

Player: "Three bags. Got it."

Is this from a Ruined Earth Spirit? Strange....

I thought there would be something different in the soil to give me a clue what's wrong, but...this looks perfectly normal.
