Type: Quest

Level: 30
Asmodian Only

Description:
Talk with Utgar. Talk with Brakan. Bring Divine Lamp to Kanensa and talk with her. PlayerTalk with Kanensa. As Heimdall advised you, look for the enlightened Daeva who will help you to receive the ceremony of the wise.
Summary:
Heimdall recommended you look for the Wise, learn the lessons of a mature Daeva, and receive enlightenment.

With the help of Utgar, an Archon of Dusk, and Brakan, a Daeva of Fortunetelling, you learned that Kanensa, a Daeva of Wind, is one of the Wise.

When you showed Kanensa both your determination and the Divine Lamp, she told you the ceremony of the wise would be difficult, but agreed to show you the way.

Full quest's text:
It's been a while, Player. It seems like only yesterday you came to me for the Daeva's ceremony.

By now you've asked yourself a lot of questions. What is the reason for a Daeva's existence? Was it right for you to choose [%userclass]? How should one live an eternal life?

You'll look for those answers your whole life, but after the Ceremony of the Wise, you'll better understand the questions.

Player: "The Ceremony of the Wise?"

The Wise are Daevas who attain enlightenment. They are mentors and leaders.

You've met one already, my mentor Munin. If you wish to undergo the ceremony, I can help you find another who will guide you on the journey.

Are you willing to walk this path?

Player: Accept.

Those who attain enlightenment do not display themselves. Anyone, even the most unlikely Daeva, can be one of the Wise.

I can tell you where to begin your search--Utgar, in Morheim.

If he is not one of the wise, I'll be very surprised. At the very least, he might tell you the location of another.

Player: "Thank you, Heimdall. For everything."

I've been waiting for you, Player.

Heimdall sent word to me of your search.

Tell me now, the deepest truth of your heart. Are you ready to meet the wise?

Player: "I am."

There's a saying among the Shugos. "Things traded for nothing have no value." And the Archons of Dusk say that the "truth" of another is nothing more or less than an opinion.

The search for the wise is itself part of the process of enlightenment. When you find the one you seek, you will both know it without asking.

Perhaps Brakan--a Daeva of Fortunetelling who ponders the will of heaven in Pandaemonium--may be of help to you.

Player: "I'll seek him out."

The principles of the world are written in the heavens below.

The great prophet Kalil said that when you comprehend the movement of heaven, you can understand past, present, and future events.

Young Daeva, why do you come to me? What is it you want to know?

Player: "I would know the Wise."

The Wise, the Wise. That's no ordinary question, and one you could not ask without preparation.

If you ask it of me, you are ready and qualified to ask it of them directly.

Kanensa at the Pandaemonium port will recognize you if you bring her a Divine Lamp. Without it, you will not receive an answer.

Player: "Thank you."

New wind is coming. Always, it carries something, be it hope or disaster.

Do you understand this, or am I talking nonsense?

If you came to use the airship, go that way. Otherwise, what brings you to me?

Player: "I seek word of the Wise."

You look in the wrong place, Daeva. The shadows are deep with no Divine Lamp to banish them.

I'm no great person, just someone who listens to the wind.

I'm sorry that I couldn't help you.

Player: "Wait here. I'll be back."

I have an answer for you, though you still do not understand the question.

The fact that you are here means that you are qualified to ask it. But you would not have come at all if you knew yourself fully.

The process of self-discovery is difficult. It might be better to know nothing at all than to do your best and fail. Are you still willing to receive the Ceremony of the Wise?

Player: "Yes, I am."

I cannot give enlightenment, you must earn it for yourself. I only show a direction in which to look, like the wind pushing the sails of a boat.

It's your responsibility to cross the stormy sea. This path might be more painful than you thought.

Should you reach the other side, you will know the path of the Daeva, and yourself.
