Dialogs: Chapter 1: Ancient Aether It is not easy to deal with the Aether which is inherent to all life in Atreia. Even in ancient times, people were aware of the power of the Aether and its influence on life. Back then, it was believed that the Aether was the origin of everything. Aether was often used in alchemy. The blind faith in the power of the Aether is based on the discovery of secret methods which enable high-purity Aether to be extracted and used to create new life. The ancient alchemists considered themselves omniscient and omnipotent creatures with control over the Aether. And they wanted to prove that. As a result, the Aether research veered from the right path and led the alchemy astray. They were mistaken. Aether is not a building block of life. Chapter 2: What is Aether? The definition of Aether has barely changed since time immemorial. Aether Energy is no longer seen as the source of life, however, but as a spiritual principle. That idea is based on the knowledge of Lumiel, Lady of Wisdom. Lumiel's definition came closest to the nature and essence of Aether. It played a major role in the development of Aetherology. Scientists who wanted to understand the mysteries of the Aether did away with the previous material way of thinking and progressed into unexplored areas of life and soul. That development was correct. It was confirmed that the interaction of Aether and life held Atreia in a harmonious balance. Chapter 3: The Power of Aether There are countless examples of how Aether influences life. It has to do with the power of the Aether. Humans who ascend by means of the special power of the Aether are called Daevas. Obelisks were erected in places where Aether occurs in its purest form. That is well known. But where there is a lack of Aether, forests die and deserts expand. There are also rumours that the Balaur discovered in the Abyss had suffered physically and mentally under the influence of the Aether. These examples show that the effect of Aether on life depends on its concentration. Unfortunately, we still have no answer as to what exactly the power of the Aether is. Chapter 4: Handling Aether Being able to handle Aether seems to be an innate gift. There is therefore no need to ask how somebody has learnt to handle Aether. Most of those who can handle Aether well discovered their abilities suddenly. Some discovered it by accident, others woke up and transformed a substance using Aether as though in a trance. The range of application of Daevas who are able to handle the power of Aether is very broad. There is a clear focus on the ability to handle Aether. Chapter 5: Applied Aetherology In this chapter, I would like to briefly discuss the real-life applications of Aetherology. It is well known that Aether is used to heal or resurrect people. It is believed that this effect is down to the spiritual influence of the Aether, which works in an as yet unknown way. Moreover, Aether is used as a material for substance transformation in every recipe - except in cooking. Aether is used as a powder, crystal, fragment and in its natural form. The purer the Aether, the higher-quality the goods made with it. To extract Aether, it is necessary to master aethertapping. Up to a certain level, you can acquire this with Kinah, but Daevas who want to reach a higher level must pass a test. Chapter 6: Stigma Stones Stigma Stones are known to release Aether energy. They are closely linked to the Aether. In the Millennium War, the Cataclysm and the war between the Elyos and the Asmodians in the Abyss, countless Daevas lost their lives. Their bodies may have passed, but their souls have connected to the Aether in Atreia. For some unexplained reasons, the Stigma Stones, as we know them today, emerged from this. Many scientists have researched the process by which the souls of the fallen Daevas connect to the Aether. This process could provide an indication of how the Aether affects life. But right now, research has come to a standstill. Nonetheless, ground-breaking discoveries in Aetherology are expected to be made sooner or later, particularly in the study of Stigma Stones.
