Type: Important
Category: Vengar
Lv.: 999
Asmodian Only

Description:
Talk to Jekun. Find the Base of the Cursed and examine the [plur]Vengeful Aetheric Field Protector[pl:"Protectors"] (5). Examine Cursed Girmesh (1). Talk to Girmesh. Talk to Jalturan near the Relics of the Dragon Lord. Report to Jekun. Carry out Vice Captain Jekun's request and begin the investigation.
Summary:
You returned to Jekun after you were unable to find out anything about the Beritra Army. Jekun said that the seals of the Aetheric Field Protector seemed familiar to him, and he asked you to examine the vengeful Aetheric Field Protectors.

You killed Girmesh, the cursed Aetheric Field Protector. This broke the curse, and Girmesh's spirit spoke to you.

You asked Girmesh about the sealed power. He said that a long time ago, Tiamat had sealed up a creature that she feared.

Girmesh advised you to ask the Aquan for help. You then went to see the Aquan Jalturan. He told you about a legendary being that was apparently sealed up long ago in a major battle.

You reported to Jekun what you had been told. He was concerned that a creature existed that even the Dragon Lord Tiamat feared.

Full quest's text:
There's still a lot that we need to find out about Vengar.

Although they just seem like small details, they're very important.

The most important thing is that we find out what the power is that Tiamat hid in Vengar.

I'm very curious to find out what the power is.

What could it be that Tiamat sealed away?
What we know for sure is that the Aetheric Field Protector is one of Tiamat's soldiers.

Her seal looks familiar to me somehow.

I feel like I've seen it before in Balaurea.

Frankly, I'm a little suspicious, but since I'm not a scientist I find it hard to come up with a theory for it.
Tiamat has a bad reputation among Balaur.

There were many Balaur who rebelled against Tiamat after she betrayed and defeated the Dragon Lord she followed so she could take his place.

I remember the rebellious Balaur well.

I suspect that the Vengeful Aetheric Field Protector[pl:"Protectors"] near Base of the Cursed is one of those rebellious Drakan.

If it's true, then we have to assume that the Aetheric Field Protector profoundly hates Tiamat.

Perhaps we can use this hate to our advantage, just like they did in Tiamat's Fortress.
I'm... Girmesh. I stood up to Tiamat the traitor...

I thought I would have this curse forever.

You have lifted the curse. Who are you?
A Daeva! You look different to the winged creatures I remember.

Tiamat... Where is Tiamat?

Where is the one who sealed the creature that she feared here?

She used us to guard the creature...

She thought she would curse us to keep her place as Dragon Lord.
Tiamat is dead?

Then the prophecy has come true. Even traitors don't live forever.

Tiamat cursed every single Balaur that stood up to her, and locked us up here...

All cursed... they look like me.
The sealed creature!

The traitor Tiamat wanted to hide the fact that she was afraid from the other Balaur.

A terrible battle raged. It all happened a long, long time ago.

Tiamat was afraid of him...

... Daeva, my time is running out.

But... perhaps the other people around you can help.
I'm glad that you're here, outlander.

We worship the holy fire.

I heard that you helped our tribe, so I will help you too.

You're seeking something, right? What exactly?
First, I have to tell you that not a single member of my tribe witnessed this with their own eyes.

Even I only know the legends that have been passed on to us verbally.

A long, long time ago, there was a great battle.

A battle between the powers of fire and ice.

Fire won that battle. It settled here.

Since then we have worshipped the holy fire.
They are known to us as the those afflicted with the earth's curse.

Creatures created by someone who was afraid of a mysterious power.

They do not know life nor death. That's all I know.

Unlike them, we are afraid that the water will disappear and we cannot continue to live.
An ancient creature...

Regardless of how much truth there is to the Aquan legend, one thing is certain.

Tiamat must have been afraid of the creature.

That's a terrible notion, but I trust that the Lord will protect us.

Thank you.
