Description:
Talk to Grundt. Talk to Gigrite. Hunt [plur]Pale Zombie[pl:"Zombies"] (4). Report the result to Gigrite. Ask for help from Vanargand. Take the Mosbear Claw to Vanargand. PlayerPlay the flute near Beritra's Weapon. Report the result to Grundt. The undead problem in the Besfer Ghost Village is serious. Meet Grundt and find out the story.
Summary:
Grundt said Besfer Village was becoming overrun with undead. He wasn't able to help, but sent you to a Protector of Divinity named Gigrite who could.

You killed Pale Zombies for Gigrite. Then he said Beritra's Weapon was still turning people to undead.

You asked for help from Vanargand, a mysterious animal, who told you how to summon a Whistle Spirit. The Whistle Spirit neutralised the energy coming from Beritra's Weapon, if only temporarily.

Full quest's text:
The work of a Protector of Divinity differs from that of a priest, you know.

A Protector does so much more than praying or gathering temple offerings. There would be no need for a Protector if that was all!

The Protector of Divinity should support people's belief and help them through the tough times as well.

It is true. And right now, the people most in need are the refugees in Besfer Village, what with all the undead that have come to occupy the village recently.

I would help if I could, of course, but I know nothing of the undead. A Protector of Divinity was dispatched, though. If anyone knows what to do about this situation, she should.

It is convenient! The trouble is that her entourage is minuscule. She may not have enough people with her to properly investigate the situation out there.

Do you think you could go to the Black Plains and help Protector of Divinity Gigrite?

Hail, Daeva.

I don't suppose you have time to assist me? I've so much research to do, but without enough people, this will simply never work.

Well, so far, I've learned that it was Beritra's Weapon that started this epidemic--that turned the villagers into an army of undead.

I also know that they are, in turn, contaminating the other creatures in the area. It's urgent that we send them all back to the Aether's flow, but my two Archons can't do it by themselves.

If you are able to help, you should head that way and take care of any Pale Zombie[pl:"Zombies"]s that you find.

Ah, Player--how did it go?

Excellent! Now to get to the root of the problem....

Beritra's Weapon is the big problem--and what a problem it is. To get near it is to become undead, which makes neutralizing it challenging, to say the least.

I really don't even know what steps to take from here, but I do know who to ask.

There is a Granker called Vanargand near the Besfer Ghost Village. He is said to have mysterious powers.

Vanargand has not been affected by the weapon, though he has been there since before the weapon was dropped. Clearly, he knows something about it that we do not.

I want to know what he knows. Please, go to him and find out the secret by any means possible.

What brings an Asmodian to me?

I have nothing to say to your type. Go on, now. Get away.

A question? About Beritra's Weapon?

You want to know how to neutralise it?

And why would I tell the likes of you? So much the better if all of you Asmodians become undead.

Of course, it’s tiresome that there are more and more undead.

You’ll need something to avoid them turning people into undead.

Bring me the relevant item.

Bring me the Mosbear Claw.
Ah, there you are. I was hoping you wouldn’t come back.

Have you got the materials?
You’ve fulfilled your task, so all that remains is for me to keep my promise.

Wait a moment.

(Puts the energy from the materials you gathered into a small flute.) Here, take it.

Play this flute near Beritra's Weapon and the whistling spirit will appear.

The spirit will take care of the rest.

I don’t have anything else to say to you, just go.
You successfully neutralised Beritra's Weapon? Oh, thank Azphel!

Oh, but it's not permanent, you say? It's only as long as the Whistle Spirit holds it? Well...we must be grateful for what we can get in a situation such as this.

Thank you for the work you've done.
