Description:
Talk to Grundt Talk to Gigrite Defeat Pale Zombie (4) Report to Gigrite Ask Vanargand for help. Bring Mosbear Claw to Vanargand PlayerPlay the flute near the Beritra's Weapon. Report to Grundt The undead problem at Besfer Ghost Village is said to be serious. Meet Grundt and get more details.
Summary:
Grundt said the Besfer Village residents are suffering immensely as the village has become a ghost town due to the undead attacks. He said he wasn't able to help himself, but that Protector of Divinity Gigrite had been dispatched from Pandaemonium. You were asked to assist her.

After returning from eliminating the Pale Zombies at Gigrite's orders, she said that Beritra's Weapon is still creating more of the undead and that a fundamental solution is required.

You asked the mysterious animal, Vanargand, for help, and called forth a Whistle Spirit to neutralize the power of Beritra's Weapon.

Full quest's text:
The work of the Protector of Divinity is different from the work of a high priest.

There's no need for a Protector of Divinity if their job is only about praying for the residents and collecting tributes.

You have to be a pillar of faith, you have to use the abilities given by the Empyrean Lord for the benefit of all, and you have to care for the problems people have.

Sometimes you even have to examine the hardships that one doesn't even recognize.

Player: (Keep listening.)

The people who are suffering the most in Beluslan right now are the refugees at the Besfer Village.

Ever since they lost their village to the undead, they go through hell every day.

I want to be of help them, but I can't since I don't know anything about the undead. All I can do is pray for them.

Thankfully, Pandaemonium dispatched a Protector of Divinity to take care of this.

Player: "I see."

I heard Protector of Divinity Gigrite has arrived at the Black Plains, not far from Besfer Ghost Village.

But she's only accompanied by one priest and two Archons. The investigation will prove to be greatly challenging.

Player, would you please go to the Black Plains and help Gigrite?

There's a lot to investigate and they're not familiar with this terrain, so they'll need a lot of assistance.

Player: "Leave it to me."

Welcome!

You seem to be such a skilled Daeva! I am so glad that you have come to volunteer your services.

We need to get rid of the undead wandering around Besfer Ghost Village, but with only two Archons, we're severely understaffed.

Seeing that [%mainslotitem]% really puts my heart at ease.

Player: (Keep listening.)

I've already heard that Beritra's Weapon was what caused the residents to turn into the undead.

However, creatures contaminated by Beritra's Weapon are spreading their infection to other creatures.

For now, it's our utmost priority to return these undead back into flow of Aether. This is for the safety of the residents as well.

Sorgrim and Alfgeir are doing their best, but with so many undead, they're just outnumbered.

Player, can you help us? If you could go to Besfer Ghost Village and get rid of some Pale Zombie, it would be of great help to us.

Player: "I'll do my best."

Player, did you get rid of all the Pale Zombie as requested?

Amazing job. I'm sure it wasn't an easy task.

I asked you to defeat the Pale Zombies to prevent the undead numbers from increasing, but it seems that won't be enough.

It seems that no matter how many of the undead we eliminate, it'll be all for naught if we don't address the root cause.

Player: "Please go on."

The fundamental solution is to get rid of Beritra's Weapon, but that's impossible.

It's not easy to destroy, and if you stay too close to it, it'll turn you into the undead.

So we must find an alternative to neutralizing the power of the Balaur weapon.

To be honest, I don't know what to do. But I know who to ask.

Player: "I'm listening."

Near Besfer Ghost Village, there's a Granker called Vanargand. They say it's an animal with mysterious powers.

If you've ever met Hreidmar in Altgard, you'll understand. It's a being that uses the power of nature and communicates like humans.

Anyway, Vanargand was there even before Beritra's Weapon fell, but it was not affected at all, and hasn't changed a bit.

In short, that Granker knows how not to be affected by the Balaur weapon.

So go to Vanargand and stop at nothing to figure out how to neutralize the power of Beritra's Weapon. Beg, threaten, I don't care.

Player: "You got it."

What brings you here, Asmodian?

I have absolutely no desire to be engaged with your kind.

So, turn back.

Player: "I'd like to know how to neutralize the Balaur weapon."

That is a matter for humankind.

It's not like I created that situation, so what do you want me to do about it?

Whether humans turn into the undead or the undead turn into humans... That interests me none.

Stop bothering me and leave.

Player: "It'll become troublesome if the number of undead rises."

...

True, the undead rising in numbers has become troublesome.

I can help prevent humankind from turning into the undead, but I'll need something.

If you can get me what I need, I'll help.

Find me some Mosbear Claw.

Player: "Okay."

I see you're back. I was hoping you wouldn't.

Have you brought what I asked for?

Player: "Here you are."

You've brought what I asked for. I suppose I should keep my word.

Wait a moment.

(It infuses the collected materials into a small flute.) Here.

If you play this flute near the Beritra's Weapon, a Whistle Spirit will appear.

The Whistle Spirit will do the rest.

I've told you everything, so shoo.

Player: "Thanks."

I see... with Vanargand's help, you were able to neutralize the power of Beritra's Weapon.

Then, it seems there won't be any more undead for the time being. But, I wonder how long the Whistle Spirit's power will last...

Anyways, thank you for all your effort.

For now, it's a huge achievement in and of itself that the Besfer Village refugees won't have to live in fear.
