When I first came here, everyone was starving and poor. Look at the city now, with its splendid buildings and fancy clothes--I'd scarcely recognise it!

It was tough in those days, but we survived. You made do with what you had, even if the entire troop had to share a pot of Sparkie porridge.




I'm here to create a new drink never before seen in Atreia.

I love collecting fruits and herbs, and trying new combinations--I'm rather famous for it, actually. Every drink has different effects on those who drink it, you know.

I consider it both an art and a science, and myself both a scientist and an artist.


Yes, but I wonder if I've lost perspective. For all I know, I might be the only person who likes my new drink, and all my work would be for nothing.

I'd much rather create something a lot of different kinds of people will like, but that's going to require some research.

Would you visit some people I have in mind, and ask them what they like in a drink? Their opinions would inform my work nicely.

Drinks? I live in a desert--I'm always thirsty! Days like this one, any drink would be my favourite.

Water's scarce around here. We have to ration what drinks we have, so we're always dreaming of cool drinks.

What I'd really love, though, would be a drink to make me forget this heat--even for a little while.




Shugo taste delicate and complicated. Hard to express in a word, nyerk.

And all different Shugos like all different drinks, yes? Some like sweet fruit juicy drinks with little umbrellas--some like hard cider, some even like barley beer. Not me, but some.

Zero should forget about trying to satisfy every Shugo, akakakakak!


Numonerk likes drinks with lots of little bubbles. Tickles nose! Makes tail hairs stand on end!

I'm glad you're here. I needed a break.

I'm strangely uninspired, and that troubles me. I suppose an artist can't be inspired all the time, but still....

I have a commission to finish, and I just don't feel like painting.


I wish I had a drink to inspire me. That would be my favourite drink today.

I'd take a few sips, get all inspired, and finish this blasted commission. What a wonderful thought.

I love art, but sometimes I wish I'd become a Guardian. Life would be so much simpler, you know?
