You know, now that I hold my father's insignia in my hand like this, I think perhaps he didn't mean it for me.

When I received it, I was still young, unsure as to how to live my life. Now I am confident in what I've chosen to do.

But my sister...

Oh, very. Danell has a...unique attitude towards life. Very grim, very dark.

My mother said it was a phase, because of Father's death. But this "phase" has been going on for years now.

Perhaps I should pass on the insignia--remind her of happier times. Would you take this to her for me?

Player: Accept.

Thank you. As Danell's big brother, she wouldn't take anything from me seriously.

She's been a fine help in our battle against the Balaur.... But she can't wallow forever.

Father was always a very upbeat, hope-filled man. Danell can still learn from him.

That's a line from my latest poem. It reflects the inky despair that permeates my very being.

Why do you approach me, Danell, Mistress of Ennui?

He was always a cheerful man.... He used to give me rides on his back, and tell me how beautiful life is....
