Type: Quest

Elyos Only

Description:
Meet Class Preceptors for advice. Meet Fermina again. Talk with Fermina and decide your path. Fill your body with DP and go back to Fermina. Receive the Daevanion Armor from Fermina. Talk to your class preceptor for more advice.
Summary:
Fermina told you to ask your class preceptor about the meaning of life.

The preceptor gave you a simple, unsatisfying answer.

Fermina told you of another path, one that would reward you with Daevanion Armor infused with Aion's power.

You brought back the Divine Power of many battles and she infused that power into armor.

Full quest's text:
Clearly you hunger to improve yourself, Player. I don't question that it's your purpose.

But you must ask yourself: How you wish to improve?

Player: "What do you mean?"

To understand my meaning, you will first have to ask more questions.

Player: Accept.

When you first ascended, you made a choice, and that choice has defined you.

You chose the way of the [%userclass]. Yet are you still that [%userclass]?

Speak with your Class Preceptors. Ask them the questions you have been asking me, and see if the answers satisfy.

Player: "I hope they do."

You're not here for training, so what is it?

Player: "What is the meaning of life?"

The meaning of life is battle and glory. When I feel my strikes breaking bone and flesh, I'm happy.

When I defeat my enemies, I find purpose.

Player: "Is that truly all there is?"

That's all there is for a Warrior. Daevas like us find our purpose in war.

Player: "Thank you for your candor."

Perhaps you should ask the [%userclass] preceptor. I don't think much about such things.

Player: "Very well."

What business have you with me? New poisons to share? Stories to tell?

Player: "I wonder: What's the meaning of life?"

The meaning of life? That's what you came to ask? Well, no matter what anyone else tells you, the meaning of life is to have fun.

Player: "Is that all there is?"

I've been a Scout for centuries, and there's no better feeling than the thrill of the hunt and the rush of close combat.

And the celebrations afterward, of course. To me, that's life.

Player: "Thanks for your insight."

Why don't you ask the [%userclass] preceptor, Player?

Player: "Very well."

You've returned, and not for training. What have you come to talk about?

Player: "What is the meaning of life?"

Everyone asks themselves that very question. I'm of the opinion that the answer is knowledge.

There's always more to learn, after all.

Player: "Is that really all there is?"

All a Mage needs is knowledge. Knowledge, to us, is literally power. And what greater goal could there be than to become the most powerful Mage in Atreia?

Player: "Thank you for your candor."

You overestimate my knowledge! Perhaps ask the [%userclass] preceptor instead, and they can answer better than I.

Player: "Very well."

What have you come to speak about?

Player: "What is the meaning of life?"

Duty and responsibility. Service. Helping others. These are what keep our glorious civilization together.

Player: "Is that really all there is?"

A Priest must practice sacrifice and compassion. We must devote our entire lives to the service of Elysea.

Player: "Thank you for your candor."

I'm not certain I can help you. Perhaps talk to the [%userclass] preceptor?

Player: "Very well."

Be wary of sneaking up on Technists. We're liable to blow a hole in your head as soon as help you.

Now, what do want?

Player: "What is the meaning of life?"

Haha, wow. Is that all?

Sorry, kid, I'm not much of a philosopher. I guess if you pressed me, I'd say we're all here to find our own path in life.

Player: "Is that really all there is?"

What more could you want? A technist doesn't have to answer to anyone. Even when you carry out your orders, you're making a choice to obey, each and every time. Remember that and you'll go far.

Player: "Thank you for your candor."

You'd be better off asking the [%userclass] preceptor. My advice is really kinda technist-specific.?

Player: "Very well."

Ah! An audience for my new ballad perhaps? Or would you rather a recitation of a poem? I know several from the Elysean Annals--

Player: "What is the meaning of life?

Ah, an age-old question. There was an epic poem written in Ancient Atreian that had some words of wisdom, but I'm not sure we have the time. Besides, it doesn't translate all that well.

For myself, I find comfort in knowing that I bring beauty and joy into the lives of my fellow Daevas. That I can rally their spirits with a song.

Player: "Is that really all there is?"

All? Don't let those Guardians get to you. Our art is every bit as important to life in Atreia as their brawn.

Can you imagine how dreary it would be if not a single muse remained. Can you imagine life before we existed? No, art and beauty make life worth living.

Player: "Thank you for your candor."

I'm afraid my wisdom is only of use to the skilled muse, and you're a little too old to develop those talents now. Perhaps the [%userclass] preceptor would have more to offer.

Player: "Very well."

And what did your preceptor have to offer you?

Player: "That there was only one real meaning..."

And is that the meaning that satisfies you? Is that enough to hold you through eternity?

What if I told you there was something higher, purer to devote yourself to?

Player: "What would that be?"

Aion's power, imbued directly in the physical world. Daevanion armor, so beautiful it will make you weep to look upon it.

And stronger than anything else in the world. But only a truly devoted Daeva will ever have all five pieces....

Player: "And that is my purpose?"

It would be a long, arduous path to walk, but each piece you obtain will fill you with joy as you've never known before.

Wearing it, you'll feel embraced by the pure love of Aion.

Would you walk that path? Or would you rather remain devoted to the way of the [%userclass]?

Player: "I'll devote myself to Daevanion Armor."

The first step to making Daevanion Armor is to understand that Aion's purpose for you is as a protector.

You must obtain the enlightenment of endless battles, fill yourself with Divine Power.

That energy comes from Aion. When your body glows with it, then we can infuse it into Daevanion Armor.

Player: "I shall walk this path."

You shall remain a proud [%userclass] to the end? Perhaps that is your meaning of life, Player.

But if you feel that there is more, fill yourself with Divine Power and return to me.

Player: "I am satisfied for now."

Do you bear Aion's energy within you? Is your body filled with Divine Power?

Player: "Yes."

You have not yet pushed yourself to the limit, [%userclass]. You must prove your faith in many more battles before you return.

Player: "Very well."

Do you bear Aion's energy within you? Is your body filled with Divine Power?

Player: "Indeed. I can hardly contain it."

You have not yet pushed yourself to the limit, [%userclass]. You must prove your faith in many more battles before you return.

Player: "Very well."

I shall infuse your Divine Power into this armor now. Bear it proudly, and Aion shall always be with you.
I shall infuse your Divine Power into this armor, now. Bear it proudly, and Aion shall always be with you.
