Summary:
You followed Yulia’s orders and went to see Sulla. Sulla reported that Philon was having trouble taking samples of the giant Petrified Masses at Scar Canyon, and asked you to go and help him.

You took samples at Scar Canyon and brought them back to Sulla. Sulla was certain that the samples must be from a Crumbling Petralith.

Sulla asked you to go to the Reian Titus that had been living there for ages and ask him about the Petraliths.

Titus explained that he had seen Petraliths in Udas Temple recently. So you made your way to Udas Temple and found out that there really were Petraliths there and that they were being operated by a Jotun. You also read the Theobomos Scholar’s Research Book that you found there.

Your reported back to Brigade General Yulia and were praised for finding out such extraordinary news.

Full quest's text:
The petrification from the Scar Canyon...it spreads like a new-born slime.

To prevent Tiamat's curse from advancing, I've called Sulla, a Scholar gifted like no other. And now he's reported something startling.

Apparently, a nearby hill is no hill, but actually a fragment of something else. Sulla could tell you more about it.

Now, Player, I ran a background check on you after the last mission. You've done some interesting things, including missions involving the Theobomos Lab.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

Is it you? Did Brigade General Yulia send you?

I wasn’t expecting her to send me a [%userclass]. I thought she’d send me a geologist or archaeologist.

But you might as well help me, seeing as you’re here now. No doubt the Brigade General told you about the petrification in Scar Canyon. It’s the reason I came here.

I’ve examined the hill in question more closely. At first I thought I’d discovered petrified Balaur Bones, but it’s something else.
The petrification is comprised of an accumulation of fragments. These fragments may be of organic origin.

I have a theory, but don’t want to elaborate yet. I’m here searching for evidence to support my theory.

Oh, by the way, Philon is working in Scar Canyon. I asked him to examine the samples, but he doesn’t seem to be making progress.

Please go to Philon first and help him obtain the samples.
Did you come here because Sulla asked you to? He's been so wonderful in helping me with this project, but I don't know if I need an assistant!

All right, I admit it. Whatever this giant, petrified hill is made of, I can't manage to take a sample. It's almost as though the hill is alive and refusing to let go of a limb!

It has been. In fact, I'm relieved that you, a real [%userclass], have come to help.

Just place the samples you extract from the Western Petrified Mass, the Eastern Petrified Mass, and the Southern Petrified Mass in this sample box.

The moment you finish, you can take them straight to Sulla. He's waiting for them desperately. Just...remember me.

(You see petrified ground.)

(On closer examination, it looks like a large fragment.)

(It appears to be connected to the other fragments.)

(You try to take a sample.)

(But that seems to be physically impossible.)

(You try using the essencetapping method.)

Did you visit Philon?

I see you’ve brought some samples. Does that mean you come with good news?

Come on, tell me! I’m curious.
You only just got here and you’ve already solved my problems. No wonder Brigade General Yulia recommended you.

(Takes a sample to examine it more thoroughly)

Well... it is as I suspected. The large hill in Scar Canyon is probably a Petralith remnant.

These samples back up my theory.
I had barely dared to hope that there might really be Petraliths in Scar Canyon.

This is amazing. So there really were Petraliths in Inggison, and I’m the one who made the discovery!

The Reia have been here the longest out of anyone, so they must know about the Petraliths.

Go and see the Reian Titus and ask him, seeing as he tends to get on well with us.
Did you make your way here all by yourself? You’ve a courageous heart.

Take care that the Dragonbound don’t grab you while you’re here.

I don’t want to scare you. I only just escaped myself.

It was pitch black when they brought me to Udas Temple. Once we got there I suddenly felt very dizzy. That’s when I knew they were trying to brainwash me.
Petraliths? So that’s what they’re known as these days.

Back when Tiamat fled Inggison we called them Aion’s soldiers, because they protected us.

They held unbelievable power, and could make the earth shake just by moving their bodies. I can still recall their shouts as they went up against the Balaur.

Back then, of course, I didn’t know that they were the last soldiers of the Lord.

That is, until I saw some of them in Udas Temple.
Ah, well, to answer that I’ll have to explain something else first.

The Dragonbound dragged me to Udas Temple. We entered one of the rooms there, when suddenly they cried out, ‘Stormwing, Stormwing!’ and all of them threw their hands into the air. It must have been some kind of ritual, I suppose.

They were so engrossed in what they were doing that I managed to escape. But the temple was like a labyrinth, and I spent ages just wandering around.

At some point I stumbled upon a room that looked like a library. But when I stepped into the room, I suddenly caught sight of unfamiliar creatures walking among the ranks of Aion’s soldiers.
Oh, I was so confused, I couldn’t tell you how I got there now.

I was lucky enough to find my way out of Udas Temple again. But I do remember taking a bloody hammer from the Drakan Stone Statue there. It being there might well have triggered a mechanism that opened the door...

That’s all I remember, I’m afraid. If you want to know more, you’ll have to go to Undirborg yourself. Shura Steadfast took that ‘key’ I found in the end, if I recall correctly. She probably still has it.

... Oh, I just remembered something else. There was a strange item in the room. Most things there were ancient, but one of them was new – it looked like some sort of traveller’s bag. It was lying in a corner.

Maybe it belonged to someone who had found that chamber before I did. Might be worth a look.
(A large statue.)

(It’s an astonishingly realistic depiction of a Drakan warrior.)

(You look at it for a while before realising that the figure’s hands are held out as if it should be holding something, but they’re empty.)

(This might be the way into the Hidden Library that Titus was talking about.)
(A bag. This type is popular among travellers.)

(The traveller’s bag contains a thick book.)

(It’s a book of research papers on Udas Temple.)

(You should take a closer look at it.)
What? You entered the Udas Temple without any support? You reckless, irresponsible...oooh! This is why I haven't been excited to work with you. Can you even understand that?

The information is sound, though. All right, defeating Tiamat comes before everything else for now, but we'll need to investigate this place later.

Take this. It's a reward for making such an astonishing discovery.
