Summary:
You were discussing what happened so far with the Mysterious Helper when something struck you as odd.

You came up with the theory that there must be some artificial way of manipulating so many Daevas without them questioning their identity.

You decided to investigate the High-Security Lab to expose the secrets of the manor.

You killed a technician at the High-Security Lab, disguised yourself as a lab technician and entered the lab.

You spoke to a lab technician and the Lab Director, and found out that the Potion of Enlightenment that you drank at the manor is made from Blood Drana, and is being used to deceive and manipulate the Daevas.

You pocketed a Potion of Enlightenment sample in the lab, and destroyed the ingredients, production process and device needed to make the potion.

You returned to the Mysterious Helper and explained to her about the potion. She said that she now understood what had happened at the manor.

Full quest's text:
Player, you must be very sad right now…

But I’m sure that you’ll be all right again one day.

We’ve got to expose the truth about the manor, both for your friends who died as well as for your friends who are still alive.

Only we can do that.
I knew it. Player, you’ve come across something strange.

I wanted to talk to you about it anyway.

The ‘enlightenment’ mentioned here seems to be a training process for manipulating Daevas and instilling false ideas into their heads.

But I also don’t like this ‘memory reset’ that’s described in the records.

Ultimately, it all seems to be connected.
To summarise what we’ve learned so far: The Balaur have kidnapped Daevas from right across Atreia.

They reset the Daevas’ memories and take them to the manor, where they live as students.

They deceive the Daevas with a Balaur-centric history and mindset, and by repeatedly mentioning ‘eternal paradise’, an objective that doesn’t even exist.

That’s how they train them, and if they can’t meet their standards, they ruthlessly get rid of them… right?
I’ve seen Balaur-run Daeva camps or Daeva experimentation facilities before, but they weren’t identical.

The distinguishing feature here is… Is it possible to really make someone relinquish themselves to this extent just through training?

And to do that without any identity or doubts, like you said, Player. How is it possible that everything at the manor seems natural to them?

I’m sure there’s more to it than this. Somehow they’re deceiving the Daevas’ very consciousness.

Look at this. It’s a High-Security Lab. Even the name is suspicious.

We should investigate this place.
Hey. Have you heard that there’s not enough Blood Drana?

Ugh… How are we supposed to produce potions without ingredients?

We’ll get into trouble if we don’t improve potion production as quickly as possible.

How many potions do we have left for the students at the manor? We’ve got to stay calm.
Yikes! We’ve only got supplies for the next two days. That’s not good at all!

They’ve got to take the potions three times a day. That’s obviously why our supplies are running down so fast…!

These potions are the only things that allow the Daevas to be controlled so easily, so our superiors want us to produce even more potions even faster.

Consuming these potions is said to create an illusion that fools you into a sense of mental clarity, while your memories gradually fade.

The potions are clearly effective, but changing the production process all of a sudden is a bit…

Oh, what else can we do? We don’t have time to complain! Get back to work quickly!
You’re not going to try and tell me that it’s difficult to meet the production deadline for the potion again, are you?

We’ve already come to the conclusion that there’s no other way!

I know that we don’t have enough Blood Drana.

Then you’ll just have to find a way of getting the most out of the ingredients!

You’re about to give up just because it’s hard? What do you think will happen to the manor?
And remember! We’ll have problems if the number of defective products increases because we have to work faster. Understood?

The potions are supposed to help make the Daevas more compliant. It wasn’t easy to manage their increased aggression as it is.

Remember that the higher the ratio of defective potions, the more students have to be disposed of.

They should be as placid and submissive as possible.

It can’t be impossible to improve the production process just a tiny bit more, can it?
(You move closer and detect a familiar scent coming from the liquid in the container.)

(The scent and colour are consistent with Potion of Enlightenment you drank every day at the manor.)

(It says ‘Potion of Enlightenment – Effectiveness Improvement Test’ on the side.)
You haven’t found all of your memory fragments yet.

Let’s return to the point where your last memory ends.

Close your eyes and breathe in as deeply as you can. Good. Now…

Concentrate entirely on your breathing.

So I really was right.

Potions are being used to deceive and easily manipulate the Daevas into submission!

Player, you drank them too when you were trained at the manor, right?

I mean the Potion of Enlightenment.

When you take the potion, you slowly forget that you were a Daeva and are easier for the Balaur to control.

Yes, now I understand what happened at the manor.
