Description:
Talk to Marchutan's Agent Richelle Talk to Valetta. Go to Altar of Transcendence and talk to Anilmo Defeat Powerful Balaur, gather Balaur's Blood, and take it to Valetta PlayerTalk to Ranack Talk to Hrimfaxi Go through the Silentera Eastgate and find Vergelan Report back to Marchutan's Agent Richelle Order: Kumbanda has been located. Visit Marchutan's Agent Richelle for instructions.
Summary:
After reporting to Richelle, you visited with Valetta, who said she had found Kumbanda's whereabouts and asked you to chase him.

Anilmo and the Fatebound Legion raided Kumbanda's hideout, but with the Prediction Power of the Artifact of Fate, he evaded all pursuers once again.

You learned that Kumbanda headed to the Beshmundir Temple, but you needed a special method to catch him because he would see your plans through the Artifact of Fate.

You gathered Balaur blood and took it to Valetta, who added Anuhart and Tahabata's blood to it to make a mind control potion.

After receiving the mind control potion, Ranack and Hrimfaxi told you how to reach Silentera Canyon.

You infiltrated Silentera Canyon and delivered the mind control potion to Vergelan, only to find that the Tiamat Legion had already taken Kumbanda.

Fortunately, you retrieved the Artifact of Fate from Kumbanda's lost pouch and reported back to Agent Richelle.

Full quest's text:
Welcome, Player.

I've heard you've successfully completed many missions here.

Brigade General Valetta has given me a report, but I'd like to hear what you have to say.

Tell me what happened.

Player: "It's a long story..."

So you chased Fugitive Kumbanda to theUdas Temple and Twilight Drana Farm?

You've done quite well, then. I'm sure that your efforts will come to fruition soon.

Brigade General Valetta has everything set. Talk to her for further instructions.

Player, Atreia's future lies in your hands. Keep this in mind.

Player: (End dialog.)

Greetings, Player.

It seems that your efforts have paid off.

We have found Kumbanda.

It's all thanks to you and Anilmo.

Player: (Continue listening.)

Kumbanda was an ordinary Drakan soldier.

What changed him was Siel's Relics. After discovering their location, Kumbanda decided to make the best use of this information.

His greed and lust for power have made him a target by the Tiamat Legion, his own kind.

According to Anilmo's report, Kumbanda is planning to attempt a ceremony to revive a dead dragon with the power of the Artifact of Fate he stole from us.

Player: "A dead dragon?"

Yes, but if only we knew why...

I have no idea what Kumbanda is up to, but one thing is certain: we have to stop him and retrieve the Artifact of Fate.

Kumbanda was found at the Altar of Transcendence, above Dragonrest. Who would expect to find an Altar on the Floating Island?

The Fatebound Legion and Anilmo are already there. I sent them ahead after locating Kumbanda. Perhaps they have already captured him.

You should hurry. Go to Altar of Transcendence right away.

Player: "I'm on my way."

Player%, glad to see you.

I thought we would catch him this time...

The Fatebound Legion and I stormed in, but lost Kumbanda once again.

Player: "What happened?"

We underestimated Kumbanda. Looks like he can tap into the Prediction Power of the Artifact of Fate.

We made sure to block all the exits, but he broke through the blockade, as if he already knew our every movement.

At least we've driven him into a corner. He has no place to hide here in Gelkmaros.

This means there is only one place left to attempt his ceremony.

(Lowering his voice) It's the Beshmundir Temple.

Player: (Keep listening.)

The Asmodian Army has already chased Kumbanda into Silentera Canyon, where Beshmundir Temple is located, but at this rate, they'll lose him again.

He's using the Artifact of Fate which has the power to predict the future and find new paths... First we have to figure out how to neutralize it.

From what I hear, Dragon Lords rule the Balaur by force and fear.

The Balaur I've seen are unyielding by nature but a mental attack might work. Make him give up the Artifact voluntarily.

It's not easy, but it is not impossible, if we have the energy of a Balaur who is stronger than Kumbanda.

Player: "Do you have something in mind?"

There are many powerful Balaur deep inside the Earthfang Gorge. Defeat them and gather their blood.

Then, take it to Brigade General Valetta.

If you bring Balaur Blood, Brigade General Valetta will give you an item that's outstanding at controlling Balaurs' minds.

Player: "Understood."

I've already received Anilmo's message. You need a mind control potion to stop Kumbanda?

During the Dark Poeta incident, we were able to obtain the blood of Anuhart and Tahabata. Mix it with the Balaur blood you brought with you, and the effect will be powerful.

Player: "Here's Balaur blood."

You're quite skilled, bringing this much blood. Wait a moment.

(He mixes Anuhart and Tahabata's Vitality with Balaur's Blood, takes out a vial from his pocket, and adds a few drops of liquid to the mixture.)

This should be enough to mind control Kumbanda. Deliver it to the Fatebound Centurion, who is pursuing Kumbanda in the Silentera Canyon.

Oh, do you know how to get to Silentera Canyon?

The Archons in the Vorgaltem Battlefield can explain better than I can.

Find Ranack in the Vorgaltem Citadel and Hrimfaxi in the Crimson Temple. They can tell you more about Silentera Canyon.

The Asmodians may have become stronger but Vorgaltem Battlefield is still contended. We're still fighting the Balaur and the Elyos to occupy more fortresses.

You must first help Ranack and Hrimfaxi to occupy fortresses before they can truly help you.

Player: "Got it."

I wish I were assigned to a fortress other than this Balaur one.

But, we need it to hold a dominant position in the war for Gelkmaros.

We're doing our best not to lose it.

Player: "I'm here to ask about Silentera Canyon and Beshmundir Temple."

It was only recently that we learned this Balaur fortress has a secret function.

If a faction occupies both Vorgaltem Citadel and the Crimson Temple at the same time, it can open the Silentera Eastgate.

Who would have guessed that such a huge passage runs under Gelkmaros?

The Silentera Canyon is technically too big and complicated to just be a corridor. Some claim that Silentera Canyon may be just a small part of a much larger passage.

Others claim the canyon links up with other parts of Tiamat's territory: Inggison, a place occupied by Kaisinel and the wicked Elyos. It may even be connected with Tiamaranta. Who knows?

One thing is for sure: the Balaur have used Silentera Canyon for ages and hidden something so important that they built two fortresses to protect it.

That's all I know. For information on the Beshmundir Temple, go ask Hrimfaxi in the Crimson Temple.

Player: (End dialog.)

Ah, Player. Brigade General Valetta said you were coming.

Ranack told you about Silentera Canyon, I assume?

The canyon is still shrouded in mystery, but there's no doubt that the Beshmundir Temple is hidden deep within.

The Beshmundir Temple is no ordinary Temple. Long ago, a dragon revolted against the Balaur Emperor and ended up being sealed in the Temple.

A fierce battle took place between the Balaur Emperor and the rebels, and many Balaur lost their lives. Those rebellious Balaur may now rest inside the Temple.

I'm not exactly sure what lies in the Beshmundir Temple. For all I know, it could be a true disaster if the sleeping dragon were to wake.

Player: "Please go on."

That is all I know.

Player%, it's time to head to Silentera Canyon.

Entering the canyon will be your first challenge, Player%. You have to pass through it to get to the Beshmundir Temple.

If we Asmodians occupy both the Vorgaltem Citadel and the Crimson Temple, we can open the Eastgate of the Silentera Canyon. We should not miss that chance.

Then it's all up to you, Player%. You have to pass through the Corridor and find the Fatebound Centurion Vergelan and give him the mind control potion on your own.

I hope you complete the mission and return safely.

Player: "Sure, leave it to me."

Welcome, Player. I've been waiting for you after hearing of your departure.

I hear you brought a mind control potion for Kumbanda?

It's a shame it couldn't have been sooner.

Player: "What are you talking about?"

The Fatebound Legion chased Kumbanda to Beshmundir Temple, beyond Hope's Demise south of the Silentera Canyon.

But right under our noses, Kumbanda was captured by the Tiamat Legion and taken away somewhere.

We gave chase with all our strength, but all we recovered was this report from the Tiamat Legion and a pouch that Kumbanda left behind.

Player: "What happened to the Artifact of Fate?"

As luck would have it, Artifact of Fate was in Kumbanda's pouch.

The next time we find Kumbanda, at least he won't be able to run away using the Artifact of Fate's power.

We failed the mission but the results aren't bad, so maybe we should take solace in that...

Player: (Keep listening.)

Hmph, anyways, we have to report this.

Deliver this report of Kumbanda's capture and the Artifact of Fate to Agent Richelle.

The Fatebound Legion will remain here to continue to track down Kumbanda and complete our mission.

Player: End conversation.

I see. The Tiamat Legion had already taken him when you got there.

Don't blame yourself. It was my responsibility. It was I who failed to plan ahead. Not you or the Fatebound Legion.

I wish we had captured Kumbanda and located Siel's Relics... At least we have retrieved the Artifact of Fate.

You've done well.

Now take some time off to relax. I'll call you in when we need you.
