The first lesson, though, is one of unlearning: Just because you were a good fighter in Elysea doesn't mean you'll be a hero of the Abyss War.

The Asmodians and the Balaur kill a lot of our brothers and sisters in arms. But overconfidence is the leading cause of casualties in the Abyss.
