Author's Note

When I served in the Sandstorm Legion, my squad was sent to Asmodae to collect the remains of the Storm Legion.

Through the rift we arrived at a place called Morheim, and in the middle of the desert stood a structure made of rocks and chains.

It is called the Deltras's Execution Ground by the wicked Asmodians. I couldn't hold back my tears.

The fact that Deltras, who was the light of the Sanctum, was cruelly killed in such a desolate place, both infuriated and saddened me.

Now sitting here where Deltras and his brave Storm Legion met their fate, I want to tell you the stories of these heroes.

May my story comfort their souls...

Deltras and the Storm Legion

Deltras was a Guardian serving the Lord of Justice Nezekan.

He was one of the best Templars at the Sanctum. When he appeared in his silver armor, holding his shield, everyone cheered.

Deltras was the leader of the Storm Legion that consisted of elite Gladiators, Templars, and Clerics.

For many years, they undertook missions together and their skills were extraordinary. More importantly, a great bond of trust formed between them. They became one of the most renowned legions in Elysea.

Deltras, their brigade general, was a good leader, doing all the hard work and always giving credit to his men. It is no surprise the Storm Legion did not hesitate to follow him everywhere he went.

To the Abyss

It was around this time the first Abyss connected to the Outland had been discovered.

The Abyss was so unstable that most Daevas who went there went missing or were killed.

After losing contact with the Guardian Vanguard Unit that went on an expedition to the Abyss, Deltras decided to discover the mystery of the Abyss for himself.

What Deltras's party did in the Abyss was well documented in the regular reports the Storm Legion submitted to Sanctum.

While searching for traces of the Guardian advance unit, Deltras and the Storm Legion ran into, and battled, the Balaur who were mutated under the influence of the Abyss.

But the Balaur were no match for the Storm Legion.

The Missing Storm Legion

Considering the possibility of the existence of unmutated Drakans, Deltras's party scoured the Abyss and discovered a rift deep inside it.

The Storm Legion thought that it might be a gate to another place in Elysea or the land where the Balaur lived.

Sending an vanguard unit for confirmation was suggested, but Deltras was worried about a Balaur ambush and decided it would be best to enter together.

And just like that, the Storm Legion vanished from the world.

Testimony From Those Who Returned

This story is based on the testimony of Triton and Akarios, who returned to the Sanctum, ragged and covered in wounds, after a long period of time.

I was there when they testified.

A low-rank guard, I was standing at the door to the conference hall when I saw the faces of Triton and Akarios pale with anger and sorrow.

Although fatigued, and covered with wounds, they continued their testimony.

They spoke unsteadily, in a confused voice, rambling from time to time. However, as their story unfolded, everyone in the room felt anger, sorrow, and fear.

The Storm Legion That Went To Asmodae

The place the rift took the Storm Legion was dreary and cold.

It was neither like Elysea nor like Balaurea.

While exploring the new area, Deltras's party came across an unfamiliar group.

They were tall and pale with long claws and a mane on their backs.

Although the Storm Legion had never seen the Asmodians, they could tell from years of experience in the battlefield that the Asmodians were hostile.

Judging from the situation, Deltras ordered his men to kill the Asmodians.

Deltras's party killed the Archons, then quickly and stealthily made their way. They had to return to Elysea as soon as possible.

However, the rift had already closed, and the Storm Legion ran into Empyrean Lord Zikel.

They had no idea why Zikel was there, but they could tell that he did not look happy to be there.

As soon as he saw Deltras's party, Empyrean Lord Zikel remembered what happened a thousand years ago. He intuitively knew they were the descendants of the five Empyrean Lords on the other continent.

Deltras's Final Order

Empyrean Lord Zikel smiled malevolently.

Insulting the Empyrean Lord Nezekan, he then mocked Deltras, telling him to kneel at his feet.

Realizing he could not escape death, Deltras quietly talked to Akarios.

He thanked Akarios for his loyalty and said that he would stay to save the honor of the Elyos. But Akarios had to escape by any means necessary and report what happened to the Sanctum.

Then, he condemned Zikel for insulting Empyrean Lord Nezekan.

Impatient and intolerant by nature, Empyrean Lord Zikel lost his temper, attacking Deltras and the Storm Legion with his magic powers.

Most legionnaires died alongside Deltras. Only a few managed to escape, including Triton and Akarios.

The enraged Zikel ordered his men to find and kill the escaping Elyos.

After many twists and turns, Triton and Akarios managed to find the door linked to Elysea and return to the Sanctum. They had no idea what happened to the other Guardian survivors.

In the end, only Akarios and Triton were able to fulfill Deltras's last order.
